The Atlantic Drag Racing Association along with the 3 Maritime drag racing tracks would like to inform of the following regarding EV vehicles for the 2026 Season.

 

The track managers/operators of Cape Breton Dragway, Greenfield Dragway, and Miramichi Dragway, has requested the ADRA to help communicate and inform EV owners that would like to participate in racing at any of the facilities that it is unfortunately not possible at this time due to safety concerns of dealing with fire or entrapment of a racer in an EV vehicle.

 

As much as we would like to welcome all racers, including those with an EV vehicle, safety is the top priority at every track. Currently there is not the required specific equipment on site at any of the facilities to deal with any type of accident involving an EV vehicle. We do not want to put any drivers, safety staff, and others at risk if an unfortunate incident were to happen.

 

We hope that all understand the concern and precautions that we are taking. There has been conversations amongst the track operators and hopefully at some point in time we will be able to welcome you to our great sport of Drag Racing in Atlantic Canada. Thanks and have a great 2026 race season.
